I'm still going to school at BYU and enjoying taking the spring and summer terms off to work and escape from all of my text books! Life is going great, though rather uneventful I suppose. Next month I will reach my two year anniversary for returning from my mission to Philadelphia. It's pretty hard for me to believe that it's truly been that long, but I guess time has a way of moving on without our realizing it. I'm not projected to graduate until January '08 and after that I plan on teaching english at a high school or middle school- don't ask me where because I haven't the slightest idea. :) Right now I'm working as a nanny and also teaching classes in basic microsoft and adobe applications in the IT department here at the Y. I'm loving the opportunity to spend time with friends and try to get out and do a lot of fun activities during the evenings and on weekends.
Debbie Snow (Gasser)
We've been living in Logan since we got married three years ago, andI've been teaching English at Logan High School while Neal finishedhis MAcc at USU. He's done after this summer, and he has a job linedup in Houston, Texas. It's a great job and he's hugely excited, sothat makes it easier for me to get over my nerves about moving to aplace I've never been. Most of the people I've talked to say it'swonderful once you get past the heat/humidity and the bugs. We'llsee... Mostly I'm excited, but still a little scared. We'll bemoving at the beginning of August. The other news is that I'm going to have our first baby this fall.I'm 14 weeks along, and it's due November 20th. So I won't be workingright away when we move down, and we'll see how things work out in thefuture. Right now I'm eager to get over the nausea that flattens meevery evening. It's supposed to go away soon, I understand, but Iwish it would go now! That's about it for our excitement these days. We'll let you knowwhen anything else comes up!

Greg and Ilene Platt
Ilene and I are now living in Vernal. I just landed a job as the city planner for the City of Naples, Utah, and we've been here almost 2 weeks now. So far we like it, but it is an adjustment from city to small town life.
Ilene is pregnant with our first child. She's due on October 13, and that means that this Saturday (May 26) marks half-way. I (Greg) just felt the baby kick for the first time, yesterday (Sunday). We're getting really excited, and we've already gone out and purchased or created most of what we need for the baby.
I'm still working on finishing my MS degree in Geography from BYU. My coursework is completed and now it's just a matter of writing my thesis, which I hope to have done in the next few months.

We are plugging away here in Layton. We love it up here, but is May the busiest month or what? Way busier than Dec. Jackson and Jonah are in baseball and soccer and I coach both. We just got back from a fun night at the batting cages. School coming to a close and all of the end of year programs and field-trips are about running Merritt ragged. I keep telling her she doesn't have to be super-mom but she won't have it any other way. Our youngest, Emma just turned 4 and what a sweet, curly-haired cutie she is.It is good to hear from everybody and glad we are keeping in touch. I gotta go now and watch the Jazz game. Go Jazz!!
Love ya, Dan and Merritt

Emily and I have been married for almost 5 months now, which isn’t very long but it’s going by quickly. Emily is just starting her second year of grad school in the Communication disorders (formerly known as Speech Pathology) program at BYU and is staying very busy with that. She will start an internship in the middle of June and we are excited for her to finally be done with classes for a while. She is excited that she will finally be able to use all of these things that she has been learning in classes for so long. I am still going to school and working full time. I am hoping to be able to quit work and just focus on school in the fall, but so many things have to happen in just the right order that it sometimes seems impossible. I also just got called to be the second counselor in a student ward bishopric of a BYU ward. That has been very fun and has occupied the time that I’m not going to school or working. We keep very busy and don’t see as much of each other as we would like, but just keep plugging along and enjoy the time that we do get with each other. Hope you’re all doing well and look forward to seeing you soon!

Hey Family, what's up. This is Jim and Sarah Oman checking in from Kansas City, KS. First of all we want to give props to Angie for the good idea and all the hard work in getting this site set up. Thanks Angie!
Well, a little about us: We are currently living in Olathe, KS and enjoying the blessings and challenges of home-ownership. We have been living in our new home for about 7 months and we absolutely love it. Jim is working at a human resources firm and Sarah is a teacher in the child development center at the local college. We both really enjoy our jobs...well, at least we try. We'd rather be playing and we do plenty of that on the weekends. We spend a lot of our spare time playing sports and working out. We try to make it out to "the place" (Utah), several times per year and we love spending time with the family.
It's great hearing from you all. Hopefully we'll have a reunion again, one of these days, where we can see you all again. If you're ever in Kansas or Missouri, feel free to crash with us. Take care, Jim & Sarah Oman

It is sometimes hard for me to remember that you all are my cousins and not my nieces and nephews. I grew up with most of your parents almost like they were my brothers and sisters instead of my aunts and uncles and I have kids not much younger than most of you and older than many of you. But I wanted to give you some info on us. I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to just e-mail Angie and let her put it on the website, or if I was supposed to go directly to the web site. Since none of my kids are here to show me how to do that, I will just send it to Angie and hope she gets in on the website.
Our family is doing great. We are almost down to only 2 left at home and that is strange.
Kevin is almost 25. He is still at home. As most of you know he was married a couple of years ago and then divorced a year later. It was a sad and frustrating time for him, but it has been good it happened when it did. He will finish with school in 2 weeks and has been offered a really good job with a surveying company close by. He is excited to move out on his own and get his independence back. He has been dating a really sweet girl so we will see what happens there. I have been very proud of how he has kept his chin up the last year through some difficult times. He bought himself a dirt bike for graduation and he goes dirt biking with friends most Saturdays and really enjoys that time of relaxation. I have to say that as he tells me about his jumps and climbs it doesn’t sound too relaxing to me.
Keri is 23. She is still living on her own and working as a nail technician at a spa down the road from us. She does a really good job. She also does some catering for a company which takes a lot of her evenings. She would like to find a 9 to 5 job with no weekends and with benefits so that she doesn’t feel like she has to work the 2nd job, but for right now that is the only way to pay the bills. She is a really a fun young woman and we have a lot of fun together.
Lisa just turned 20. She is rooming with Keri and unbelievably the two of them get along great. They have become really good friends. Lisa still works for a dentist here close as a Dental Assistant. She loves the work, but there are no benefits, and that is killing her. So she also has been looking to find a job where she can get benefits. She has 4 years of experience as a dental assistant, but because she didn’t go to school and get the certificate, it has been hard for her to find something. She is thinking of just going and bypassing the course and taking the test to get her certificate.
Michael is 17. He is very antsy about finishing his Sr. year next year and being finished with High School. He is already getting quite trunky. He would eventually like to get into some kind of Multi Media course or Computer Design or something. He works at a pizza place right next to Keri’s work and enjoys that. He loves to skateboard and bike and loves to spend time with his neighborhood friends.
Sarah just turned 14. She is my involved one who wants to do it all. She loves all sports but especially Fast Pitch and basketball. She has played on the Fast pitch team and basketball team at her middle school and is now on a select fast pitch team which she is hoping will get her more prepared for trying out in high school next year. She is in a clogging class and loves that and she also takes piano lessons. She does leadership at her middle school and has a lot of fun with that. She pretty much has mapped out her life. She wants to do running start her Jr. year of High School and start going to a community college so that she has a lot of credits behind her before starting at BYU Provo. Then she wants to transfer to BYU Hawaii for at least a year. She wants to go into nursing. And she still says she wants to go on a mission and she will be going to China. So we will see how much of her life turns out the way she wants. She is a pretty determined young lady, so who knows. She can do anything she sets her mind to. All except where she goes on a mission. But who knows.
Chuck and I pretty much just go day to day helping the kids and getting them where they need to be and doing our church callings and work and all in all staying busy. Chuck just finished a huge project at the Boeing Company that he was the lead of for the last 2 ½ years and we are glad to have him home a little more with a little more time on his hands. He is excited to get into real estate investing and has been studying up on that. I am in charge of the Enrichment meetings for Relief Society and I am also the Ward Camp Director for Girls Camp. I work from home as an Administrative Assistant for a Regional Director of a Pharmaceutical Company and I really enjoy doing that. Chuck and I are also going to be Ma and Pa’s on the Trek for our Youth Conference this summer. So we have lots going on this summer. But we have some fun camping trips planned as well as hopefully another trip to Disneyland, so it should be a good summer.
Well, hopefully this updates you on my family. Angie, I hope it isn’t a big deal for you to put this on the website. I need to take the time to figure out how to get on that site and put some pictures and things on. Well, I think it is great that Angie has gotten this going. I really think we need to have a Thornock reunion again one of these summers. Take care everyone.

Sam and Anna Oman
Well, the Sam and Anna Oman's have been busy the past few months. We had Jessica Marie join our family on March 27th and we blessed her on May 6th.
We also just bought a minivan (I know we don't really need one, but it was a deal we could NOT pass up). Anyway, so we are now owners of a 2004 Honda Odessey, we just love it!!
Melissa is now 21 months and is as oppinionated as ever!!! She is adorable and just loves to be with her Dad. Jessica is still sleeping most of the time and is smiling and cooing at us. We just love having her. Melissa loves her sister (sometimes too much) and loves to tell us when Jessica wants something.
Sam has now experienced his first ankle sprain, and it was pretty bad!! His ankle was so big and ugly colors, but he has survived, although he doesn't want to experience that again.
Anna is doing fine, trying to keep up with everything. I had a great mothers day- Sam did everything for us, it was a nice break!!!
We are just loving our home and our ward.
That is it for us. See ya

YEA! We have a few family updates! I can't tell you how excited I am to be able to keep up with all our cousins! We are SOOO blessed to have this incredible family!
Things at my house are great! We have lived here in Herriman for a year now! This weekend we finished planting bushes and flowers in our yard, and I feel like an official "homeowner" now! We love our neighborhood so much and have so many fantastic friends here.
Scotty is busy running his company and loves selling water! He sells water Purification systems to peoples offices. Who knew there was such a market for selling water?
I am busy with my piano students and just love being a mom. I have two of the cutest kids on earth, Coleman is 2 and is a happy, bright-eyed kid that is just a sweet little wiggle-worm/snuggle bug! He loves his books, and his favorite person is of course, .. .Grandma Bev. (She's my favorite person too so I can't blame him!)
Aidan is 4 years old and just a genius :) He loves drawing and has a notebook in his hand 24 hours a day drawing everything he see's. He is just such a GOOD kid. He loves to please and is very calm and content. He loves to learn and is a heart melt. I am blessed to have two beautiful boys. (almost always you can find them dressed in superhero suits of somekind!)
We are expecting baby #3 this fall! In two weeks I'll find out if it's a boy or girl. I would love a girl because it would be different, but I could totally have another boy, . . especially if he's anything like my other two!
It's been so fun living here. We are in Herriman and about a block away from Linda and Marlan Platt. . .down the street from them a few houses is Kevin Thornock. 4 miles from here is Steve and Susan Thornock and all their kids within 2-3 mile's radius or so, Vonnie Oman, and My mom. We love it here!
We love all of you so much! Take care and God Bless!

Our first Thornock updates!
Doug Platt
This is the official family update for the Douglys Platt family! Currently, I have two beautiful little girls, Josslyn (2 yrs. 9 mos.) and Kathryn (17 mos.) and am getting divorced. Sounds sad, but that's life I guess. I live with Mom and Dad (Marlan and Linda) and am currently going to school at the LDS Business College. I work in Orem and live in Herriman Ut, so it's a bit of a commute from home to school to work and back home again everyday, but I manage. I just got myself a car, so I can actually go places without having to ask for permission to take Mom's car. that'll make things easier on all of us.
Remember to laugh as hard as possible at least three times every day. It's good for your diaphragm. I'll talk to ya'll later.
Douglys!
Cindy Platt (not Platt anymore but I can't remember her married name!)
Things here are somewhat stressful, but overall VERY exciting! We are a mere 4 weeks away from moving back to the West Coast, which will be a nice change of scenery as well as a nice change of Temperature! :) The East Coast, as some of you know, can get humid and MISERABLE at times! We're very excited to get back to where we "belong."
I have begun the long-awaited task of packing up the whole house! Andrew is crawling around and making mischeif of himself, but it just makes it that much more interesting and fun. He proceeded to get ahold of the rubberbands today and they were scattered from "heck to breakfast" (as my mom used to say) and I got to enjoy digging under couches, toys and baby bottoms to get all of them up and out of chocking hazard territory. Oh fun! I can only imagine what would happen with the permanent marker I use to mark the boxes!
We leave Jacksonville, NC on June 8th. We SHOULD be in Utah by the 11th, IF everything goes well . . . and that's buying us an extra day of driving. We might have to just drive nights, but I have a feeling that Andrew will be fine during the drive and will be relatively entertained with all the things we've planned for him. I just hope that it goes as well as we have expected. Otherwise this drive could be quite a test of our patience! I feel like we have an awful lot of things to get done between now and the 8th, so if any of you are going to be in the area, fell free to drop by and help me pack things up! I can use all the help I can get!!
Jogn will be driving back across the country with us in June, but unfortunately will have to return on the 26th of June to finish up his contract with the Marines. He'll be completely finished as of August 7th, which is really just around the corner, and then he'll drive his truck back across the country for the last time (hopefully!) We are VERY excited about that. We're looking at moving to Wenatchee where he'd like to get a job with the Sherrif's Department. He looks like a shew-in, but we'll see. There are tests that we have to pass before we can get too excited. We're hoping and praying, though, that's for sure. John signed his final papers today saying that he will NOT be reenlisting (thank goodness!) and denying orders to go back to the fleet which would send him to war again. We're glad he's getting out. We don't need him back in the sand box again.
